Lee Holdsworth's confirmation at Grove Racing has completed the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship grid.

The second seat at Grove Racing was the final piece of the 2022 puzzle.

The picture became clearer on Thursday when Matt Payne was locked in for a full Dunlop Super2 Series campaign.

Holdsworth, who recently won the Repco Bathurst 1000 with Chaz Mostert and Walkinshaw Andretti United, will end his short full-time exile.

The 38-year-old was left without a full-time 2021 drive after Tickford Racing downscaled to three cars.

Grove Racing will be Holdsworth's fifth full-time team after Garry Rogers Motorsport, Stone Brothers/Erebus Motorsport, Team 18 and Tickford Racing.

Holdsworth, a veteran of 476 starts, will partner David Reynolds, himself a veteran of 369 starts.

Holdsworth and Reynolds combine for 845 races, helping Grove Racing create the most experienced line-up on the grid.

Team 18 (837 combined starts), Tickford Racing (747), Shell V-Power Racing Team (602) and Team Sydney (566) are just behind.

Holdsworth will return full-time in 2022

Red Bull Ampol Racing will head the pit order in 2022 by virtue of the squad's teams' championship victory in 2021.

Series champion Shane van Gisbergen will be joined by Super2 title winner Broc Feeney at the Holden squad.

Thomas Randle joins Tickford Racing in an expanded four-car squad, with Jake Kostecki shifting from Matt Stone Racing.

MSR, meanwhile, welcomes back Todd Hazelwood, with Jack Le Brocq arriving from Tickford.

Of the 25 cars on the 2022 grid, 16 will feature the same driver versus 2021.

Shell V-Power Racing Team, Team 18, Erebus Motorsport, Blanchard Racing Team and Team Sydney head into 2022 unchanged.

Feeney and Randle will be the only full-time rookies on the 2022 grid.

2015 champion Mark Winterbottom, with 558 race starts and 250 rounds, will be the most experienced driver on the 2022 grid.

The 13-event 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle next year. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

The 13-round draft calendar was released during the Repco Bathurst 1000 weekend.
