Preston Hire Racing’s Lee Holdsworth will return to the Carrera Cup for its annual Pro-Am this weekend at Phillip Island.

Holdsworth has been drafted into the Porsche Centre Melbourne team, sharing a car with businessman Dean Grant.

Last year saw Holdsworth race in the Pro-Am alongside Stephen Grove, who has recruited Brad Jones Racing’s Tim Slade for his 2017 assault.

“It’s always great fun to jump in a Porsche, especially when you get to do it at a pretty incredible place like Phillip Island,” Holdsworth said.

“I had a really enjoyable time last year with Steve Grove and his team and I’m looking forward to more of the same this weekend.

“I know the guys at Porsche Centre Melbourne prepare a good car so hopefully Dean and I can have a solid weekend.

“It’s always great to have a chance to drive different cars and work with different people, especially at an event where there’s not so much pressure and you can really go and enjoy it.

“At the same time you’re always looking for a good result so we’ll be pushing hard.”

Holdsworth heads to the Phillip Island event following a strong Winton SuperSprint aboard his Preston Hire Holden.

The 34-year-old moved from 17th to 12th in the standings across a weekend where he finished 11th and 10th in the respective races.
