Andre Heimgartner has hit out at his rivals' driving standards after a pair of incidents at Albert Park.

Heimgartner was the only retirement of Race 7 following a clash with Will Brown.

Contact between the pair early in the race sent Heimgartner into the concrete between Turns 13 and 14.

It comes after the Kiwi was involved in an incident with Jake Kostecki and Jack Le Brocq on Friday.

The contact in Race 6 saw Le Brocq drop down the order with damage.

Kostecki, meanwhile, was handed a post-race time penalty, with Heimgartner classified 14th.

"Just another stupid thing," Heimgartner said during Race 7.

"It's unbelievable, the driving standards at the moment. It was terrible yesterday.

"Got smashed in the back, and it pushed me into Le Brocq and it ruined both of our races.

"Then that one, I got fed into the fence. Pretty pissed off.

"These young guys, they're driving way too hard and smashing into each other.

"A bit of contact here and there is alright, but plain putting someone into the fence is ridiculous."

Heimgartner wasn't the only driver in the wars in Race 7, with Will Davison tagged into the gravel by Cam Waters.

The Ford duo were disputing fourth position, with Waters hitting the rear of the #17 Shell Mustang.

Davison was stuck in the gravel trap, triggered a second Safety Car and was classified a lap down in 24th.

A despondent Davison said Waters apologised over the incident, with the latter claiming the #17 had braked early.

"It's frustrating, but eyes forward on the next one," he said.

"Cam came and said sorry, but it is what it is.

"He said he didn't expect me to brake when I did.

"It obviously wasn't ideal, but I was struggling a little bit at that moment anyway."

Cars will return to the track for Race 8 at 2:20pm AEST.
