Proud South Australian driver Todd Hazelwood has shared his favourite Adelaide memories, posting a collection of photos taken at the famous street circuit.

Uploading the memorable throwback to his social media accounts on Tuesday, the photos show some of Hazelwood’s Adelaide accomplishments.

The 27-year-old Adelaide local grew up with the event, first attending with his parents in 1995 at less than two months old.

Since then, the Matt Stone Racing driver has gone on to forge a career in motorsport racing at the Adelaide 500 every year from 2014 to when the event was last held in 2020.

After nearly three years, the popular Adelaide event will make its highly anticipated return on December 1-4. Tickets are on sale now.

The Adelaide street circuit holds a raft of career milestones for Hazelwood who won his first Super2 race at the venue, en route to sealing his maiden development series crown.

“Here [are] some epic memories from the Adelaide 500!” Hazelwood wrote.

“From watching behind the fence at Turn 8 in 2002, winning my first Super2 race, making my official Supercars debut and maiden Top Ten Shootout appearance.

“Cannot wait to create some more memories in December!”

The 2017 Super2 champion recorded an impressive start to his 2019 campaign at his home circuit, making his first ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootout appearance of his Supercars championship career.

Hazelwood backed it up with a top-ten result in the Adelaide finale.

The 2014 Mike Kable Young Gun Award winner visited the construction of the circuit last week and shared his excitement for the long-awaited return.

“It’s super exciting to see the infrastructure being put in place and the circuit coming back to life,” Hazelwood said.

“I’ve just done a track walk and the new surface looks really good, pretty much the whole circuit has been resurfaced outside of Turn 8.

“The track looks super smooth; we are going to see some fast lap times.

“Us drivers certainly cannot wait to be back on the streets and putting on a show for fans at what is my hometown event.”

Hazelwood, who has been confirmed to drive for the Blanchard Racing Team in 2023, will complete his final round with MSR in Adelaide.

BRT confirmed on Wednesday it will expand into Super2 for 2023, with the team recruiting young driver Aaron Love.
