Happy New Year from Supercars

Supercars wishes everyone a happy New Year and best wishes for 2017.

Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton said: “It promises to be an exciting year for our sport and fans.

“We have drivers wearing new colours this year including Scott McLaughlin who will line-up for DJR Team Penske, Nick Percat at Brad Jones Racing and the return of Garth Tander to Garry Rogers Motorsport.

"In 2017 we welcome the first full-time female driver of the Supercars era, Simona De Silvestro. Simona is a world class racer who will drive for Nissan Motorsport and she is sure to create huge interest wherever she goes.

“We will unveil a brand new event, the Coates Hire Newcastle 500, in November and this is going to be a spectacular finale to our season on the streets of one of Australia’s biggest and most picturesque regional cities.

"The successful Retro Round will again feature at the Sandown 500 and this year’s Bathurst 1000 will feature a special tribute to the legends of our sport.

“It’s an exciting time to be a fan. We will launch the new Supercars App and fans can also enjoy travel packages to events around the country thanks to the Virgin Australia Supercars Travel platforms.

“We can’t wait for the season to start at Clipsal 500 Adelaide on March 2.”
