Adding to their commitment to Supercars inaugural Indigenous Round, Grove Racing has donated $44,000 to Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS).

Team owner Stephen Grove presented the cheque to Head of Cultural Strength and Engagement for MITS, Samantha Rioli, and former Essendon AFL legend and MITS Ambassador, Dean Rioli ahead of Race 17 at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Grove Racing's made the generous donation on behalf of its partners.

The final bid on an Indigenous painting designed by artist Lorraine Kabbindi White, who provided the artwork for the squads Indigenous Round livery also made up the final donation amount.

The donation is enough to provide five Indigenous students from the Northern Territory to be sent to MITS for one year.

MITS is a Year 7 transition school on Wurundjeri Country for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities in the NT and Victoria.

Grove, said: “It was key for us across this weekend to back up whatever we did on track to celebrate the round with something that can truly make a difference for Indigenous Australians.”

“This is a game-changer for the lives of a group of young Indigenous kids looking to access better education via MITS.

“We’re very proud to partner with MITS and what they do is incredible, I hope that some of their students find themselves working with us in motorsport one day.”

The Grove Group in conjunction with its Supercars team partners Programmed Maintenance Services, Topps Products Australia, Dasher + Fisher Tasmanian Gin, Apex Steel, Gates, Southcott, ACL, Banlaw, Penrite and TLA all contributed to our fundraising efforts.

Race 17 will commence at 11:55am local time, followed by Race 18 at 3:25pm.
