Greg Rust has been honoured by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) for his revealing interview with Marcos Ambrose last season.

The Supercars Media commentator and presenter sat down with Ambrose after the returning star elected to step out of the driver’s seat last year, and got the inside story on his reasons.

Last night at the CAMS 2015 Motor Sport Awards held at the Crown Palladium Ballroom in Melbourne, Rust was presented with the trophy for ‘CAMS Motor Sport Story of the Year – Radio/Television’ for his interview with the two-time V8 Supercars Champion.

“It was an honour to receive this, but it really belongs to all of our V8 TV team, who worked closely with DJR Team Penske,” Rust said.

“The result is a wonderful example of the working relationship the business has with one of our race teams.”

With decades of motorsport experience, Rust joined the V8 Supercars Media on-air team in 2015 last year and is one of the most respected commentators in the business.

Last night at the CAMS Awards he also received recognition for Services to Motorsport in the media over the past 20 years.

"No one does this for the awards, but I'm very proud today," Rust said.
