Few drivers worked harder at the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint than James Golding, who put on three stunning charges.

In three races, the #31 Nulon Camaro gained a combined 28 positions.

Golding raced from 24th to 15th in Saturday’s Race 7, 22nd to 11th in Race 8, and 19th to 11th in Race 9.

He also set the fastest lap in Sunday’s first race, and gained positions in the finale in what was his 100th Supercars start.

While pleased with the race pace, however, Golding admitted his qualifying speed — or lack thereof — forced him into attack mode.

“I passed more than I should’ve passed,” Golding said on the Schick Cool Down Lap podcast.

“It obviously shows we’ve got some good pace in the car.

“We struggled to unlock it in qualifying trim, but at least we’ve got something to work with.

“We’ve got plenty of data to go through after this weekend, solid finishes with 15th and two 11ths.

“Its not where we want to be, but it’s good quality data."

Heading to Tasmania, Golding is just 29 points from the top 10, and is five points ahead of experienced teammate Tim Slade.

Golding, who prefaced the weekend with a karting championships cameo, was buoyed by his ability to hold off both Red Bull Ampol Racing drivers.

The Victorian denied Shane van Gisbergen in the finale, having kept Broc Feeney at bay in Sunday’s first race.

"When you’re not having the best weekend, it’s easy to get caught up and have it come worse off,” he said.

“We pressed on, had awesome pace in the races, passed a lot of cars.

“We held off Shane in the last one, and held off Broc in the one earlier, and those cars won races this weekend.

“It's certainly positive."

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint on May 19-21.

Tickets for the event are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
