James Golding has taken the covers off the sole Surfers Paradise-themed livery for this weekend’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

This weekend, the Surfers streets will host Supercars racing for the first time since 2019.

Golding and PremiAir Racing are celebrating the occasion with a new livery.

The new #31 Subway PremiAir Racing livery carries motifs celebrating the Gold Coast and the Gold Coast 500 event.

Tropical flowers are a prominent feature on the car, as are a rollercoaster, the beach and surf, the city skyline and fireworks.

This weekend marks PremiAir Racing’s Gold Coast debut, with its Arundel base just down the road.

PremiAir Racing has also opted to retain the retro Coca-Cola livery Chris Pither campaigned in Bathurst.

Pither will race the throwback 1995 scheme both this weekend and in Adelaide in December.

Golding took the covers off the new livery at Surfers Paradise in front of fans and media.

The Victorian, also a noted professional DJ, completed a session to mark the reveal.

"The new look of the #31 Subway PremiAir Racing Supercar is just amazing,” Golding said.

"I cannot wait to take to the streets of Surfers Paradise sporting this livery which celebrates both the Gold Coast and the Gold Coast 500.

"The car simply looks great with this new, really impactful design, and I could not be more proud to carry it into the event in less than a week’s time.

"Going by the reaction at today’s unveil, the new look is a hit with fans too.

"Getting to bring my love of being a DJ together with my love of racing in such a beautiful setting was really energising."

Golding is in the frame to retain his drive for 2023, having narrowly missed out on a top 10 in Bathurst earlier this month.

The 26-year-old scored his first top 10 race finish for PremiAir Racing at Sandown in August.

Tim Slade was confirmed at the team for 2023, a week after Pither's departure at season's end was made public.

Cars will hit the track on Friday for dual 30-minute practice sessions.
