Tomorrow kicks off the Castrol Townsville 500 - Driven by TAFE Queensland and there are plenty of travel options for heading intothe track.

Public transport is the recommended option to the circuit. And with your event ticket, the shuttle service is free - click here for the full schedule of bus services.

Taxis will be available during the three days, with ranks set up around the circuit. Contact local taxis on 131 008.

For those looking to drive into the event, delays will be expected because of the road closures. Diversions will be in place, and Boundary Street to Ingham Road, Railway Avenue to Woolcock Street, and Charters Towers road will be closed from June 27, midnight to Tuesday 8 July at 5am.

A number of car parks will be closed with a regulated parking area, surrounding Reid Park, in place across all three days from 7am to 7pm.

Major gates are located at Brodie Street, Charters Tower Road and the intersection of First St and Flowers St.
