Team 18’s #20 Commodore will carry new backing for the forthcoming Bathurst and Gold Coast events.

Scott Pye’s entry will feature a new livery with Alspec sponsorship at the next two rounds.

The revised scheme will make its debut at next weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

There, Pye will race with Super2 title contender Tyler Everingham.

Team 18 has introduced Alspec, which designs and produces aluminium systems and products for commercial, residential, and industrial applications.

The new livery, which features splashes of green, was launched at Alspec’s Victorian distribution centre in Dandenong.

Pye drove the car into the warehouse and showed it off to sales and warehouse staff.

Pye setting bar high for Great Race

The Alspec Racing livery was brought to life by PPG Paint and Ball & Doggett vinyl.

“To have Alspec onboard as naming rights partner is exciting, they’re a great supporter of Team 18 and they’ve been on the car all year,” Pye said.

“We’re looking forward to Australia’s premiere supercar race and it’s great to have an innovative partner in Alspec who are an Australia owned company and source their products locally.

“Excited for Bathurst, it’s a track everyone looks forward to going to and to see everyones face when we revealed the car made it all the more special, so I’m looking forward to getting up to the Mountain next week.”

Everingham was also on hand to reveal the livery.

Pye and Everingham will hit the track at Winton Motor Raceway for a pre-Bathurst test on Wednesday.

“It’s been a pretty cool experience to unveil the Alspec Racing livery for Bathurst,” Everingham said.

“Our preparation has been great, our test day at Winton will be extremely valuable and then we’ll charge on to Bathurst next week.

"It will be a busy day but all these laps will be crucial to ensure we’re ready to take on the mountain.

“Scott is extremely experienced so it will be good to soak up as much as I can and work with the team for a strong result at the Great Race."

Alspec Managing Director and CEO Paul Nakhle added: “Alspec are proud to step up our involvement and launch the Alspec Racing Supercar for the most iconic motor race in Australia.

“Team 18 and Alspec go hand-in-hand. We research, design, test and develop our products to push the limits and Team 18 continue to push the limits in the best touring car championship in the world.

“Bathurst and Gold Coast are two of the biggest races on the Australian motorsport calendar, to have our brand on show is an exciting moment for our customers and staff who join us in this program.”

“Alspec would like to wish Scott, Tyler and Team 18 all the best in their great race campaign and for the Gold Coast 500.”

Cars will hit the track in Bathurst next Thursday.

Tickets for the Repco Bathurst 1000 are available on Supercars.com and Ticketek.
