V8 Supercars and the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) will make history by giving fans the experience of a lifetime when two of the pinnacles of motorsport - a Formula One car and Mount Panorama - are brought together.

The joint initiative will give the V8 faithful at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 a taste of what to expect at the 2015 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne next March, where V8 Supercars and Formula One will again share the track.

V8 Supercars fans can enter the draw for a chance to win a once in a lifetime ride around Mount Panorama in the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix Swisse Two-Seater and a double pass to the 2015 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix by visiting the V8 Supercars Facebook page - facebook.com/v8supercars.

There are also 10 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 tickets to win.

On only one other occasion has a modern Formula One car made an appearance at Bathurst when V8 Supercars Champion Craig Lowndes and then Formula One World Champion Jenson Button swapped cars in 2011.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a crazy lap of Mount Panorama thanks to the Australian Grand Prix Corporation," V8 Supercars CEO James Warburton said.

"It has been a long time in the making and now four incredibly lucky people will experience the ultimate adrenalin rush."

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Andrew Westacott said with V8 Supercars being such an integral part of the Formula One event in Melbourne, it was a great opportunity to run the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix Swisse Two-Seater at Mount Panorama to give V8 Supercars' most passionate fans a taste of F1.

"We have a strong and long standing relationship with V8 Supercars, so when the prospect of a joint promotion arose, we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to give V8 fans the chance to experience Formula One from inside the cockpit," Mr Westacott said.

Following his historic run, where he clocked the fastest lap in history of 1m:48s around the world renowned Bathurst track in his McLaren MP4-23, Button was quick to acknowledge the challenging nature of the circuit.

"There are a couple of corners that every time I got there I thought I was in the right place... and you are not. But that's what makes it such a special circuit," he said.

For five-time Bathurst winner Lowndes it was an experience he will never forget and one that he regards amongst his best moments in a race car.

"From point to point the car power to weight ratio is quite incredible compared to a V8 Supercar," Lowndes said. "I can't believe someone has the chance to do this, I will need to buy a ticket now."

Strict conditions relating to height and weight will apply to the ride which is open to anyone purchasing a ticket to the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 via ticketek.com.au.
