A blockbuster field will tackle Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend for the Shannons S5000 Tasman Series at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.

The 12-car field includes S5000 Australian Drivers’ Champion Joey Mawson and former Gold Star winner Tim Macrow.

Team 18 co-driver for the Repco Bathurst 1000, James Golding, will also feature, as will Super2 driver Jordan Boys.

Boys will be doing double duty, with the Dunlop Series also on the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight undercard.

BRM will field a pair of international entrants in the championship in the form of Spaniard Roberto Merhi and Japanese driver Yoshiaki Katayama.

Merhi, the 2011 Formula 3 Euro Series champion, raced in the 2015 Formula One season for Marussia.

Team Valvoline Garry Rogers Motorsport has entered four cars, with regulars Golding and Nathan Herne joined by Aaron Cameron and Ben Bargwanna.

Boys and Blake Purdie will race for 88 Racing. AGI Sport returns with the talented Luis Leeds.

Brand-new team Versa Motorsport has entered young Victorian ace Cooper Webster, who starred in his rookie S5000 season when he won in the rain at Phillip Island earlier this year.

The 2021 S5000 Tasman Series will see drivers battle for $50,000 in prize money (including $30,000 to the series champion) across three races at Sydney Motorsport Park and Mount Panorama.

The champion will also lift the Tasman Cup, which was awarded to iconic names throughout the 1960s and 1970s such as Jim Clark, Bruce McLaren, Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark and Chris Amon.

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship and Dunlop Series seasons will resume this weekend at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight. Click here to view the race schedule.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
