Broc Feeney's first trip to Tasmania will be the first of three visits to new circuits.

Prior to the weekend, the Red Bull Ampol Racing rookie had never been to Tasmania, let alone Symmons Plains.

Saturday morning's first practice will be the teenager's first laps of the 2.4km circut.

From there, Supercars will race at Melbourne's Albert Park and Perth's Wanneroo. Feeney hasn't raced at either.

Fortunately for Feeney, the first leg of the three comes at a happy Triple Eight hunting ground.

The team has won 13 of the last 17 races at Symmons Plains, including three of the last four.

For Feeney, intel with teammate Shane van Gisbergen and existing data will be crucial as he aims to get up to speed.

"I'll slot in behind Shane and follow him for a few laps," Feeney told Supercars.com at Symmons Plains.

"I've been looking through the data, watching onboards and watching last year's races.

"I've also spent time in the simulator, so we'll what what translates this weekend.

"I've had to learn new tracks at some point anyway; I haven't raced at Albert Park or Perth either."

The NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint is the first two-day event of the 2022 season.

Feeney and his rivals will have a combined hour of practice on Saturday morning before knockout qualifying.

Feeney acknowledged the performance of his car, but admitted it will be a steep learning curve.

"Saturday is going to be hectic," said Feeney, who was thrown into the deep end in Sydney.

"Straight up in the morning with two practices, a qualifying session and a race.

"It's going to be a big first day, but knowing the cars are fast here gives me a lot of confidence.

"The car may be good, but it's up to me to learn the track as quick as I can."
