Fans will have the chance to appear on Rick Kelly’s Castrol Racing livery at the season-ending Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 next month.

Kelly Racing has made a habit of bringing fans into the equation to choose a special paint scheme to run at the Mountain each year; adopting the famous ‘Silver Bullet’ look at the 2019 event.

Given the fan situation for this year’s Great Race is not yet entirely clear, the Ford squad has moved to include supporters in a different manner – by offering the chance to feature on the #15 Mustang.

To secure a place, the team has directed fans to upload a photo of themselves or their family to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #RideWithCastrol.

There is also the ability to nominate a friend or a family member to be included in the one-off livery, sharing a photo of their nominee using the same hashtag.

“We’re pretty well known for involving the fans in our special Bathurst liveries and this year will be no different, but because they can’t necessarily be at the track and travel to Bathurst from all corners of the country, they’ll be able to be at the track in a different sense by having their photo somewhere on my Castrol Racing Mustang,” said Kelly.

“It’s been a challenging year for everyone so hopefully this small initiative from Kelly Racing and Castrol can help lift some spirits – it’s not every day you get to have a picture of yourself racing around Mount Panorama on the Castrol Mustang Supercar in the Bathurst 1000.

“The great thing is anyone can enter, no matter who you are or what your story is, you’re more than welcome to submit your photo and join the team for the Bathurst 1000 – if it helps someone through a challenging time then that’s our goal achieved.

“And those people in particular who are doing it tough or helping their community will definitely get a special mention.

“I’m definitely keen to get to Bathurst, see the special Castrol livery and go racing.

“We’re extremely fortunate to be able to still have the Bathurst 1000 after everything we’ve been through this year so we’ll give it everything we’ve got and do our best to do Team Castrol proud.”

Every fan that enters a photo before the September 30 upload deadline will also go into the mix to win one of several Castrol Racing merchandise packs.

The identity of Kelly’s co-driver for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 15-18 is to be confirmed in due course.
