Dunlop Tyres has raised more than $10,000 for the fight against breast cancer during last weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

For a third consecutive year, Dunlop Tyres went pink at Mount Panorama.

The official control tyre of Supercars donated $50 for every pitstop of every Supercar during the Great Race, to help the National Breast Cancer Foundation fund game-changing breast cancer research.

Supercars donned bespoke pink Dunlop Sport Maxx tyre sidewall branding to highlight the partnership with NBCF, along with pink track signage and Dunlop Motorsport team uniforms.

Sunday’s dramatic Great Race, won by Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander, featured eight bp Ultimate Safety Cars.

Three additional wildcard entries and changing track conditions helped to deliver the highest pit stop count in recent years.

The 28-car field including 56 drivers completed a total of 201 pit stops and fitted 1788 tyres, during more than six hours of racing around Mount Panorama.

At $50 per stop, Dunlop is proudly donating $10,050 to NBCF.

NBCF is Australia's leading national body funding breast cancer research, with money raised entirely by the Australian public.

Their vision is Zero Deaths from breast cancer through funding and championing world-class research that will ultimately save lives.

NBCF CEO Associate Professor Cleola Anderiesz said Dunlop’s donation will help to bolster their efforts.

“We know that research is not just a stopgap for today, it is the key to stopping breast cancer deaths in the future,” Anderiesz said.

“The only way we will do this is through developing better methods to identify, treat and prevent the disease.

“As NBCF is 100 percent community funded, we are completely reliant on support from the community and the generosity of our corporate partners like Dunlop.

“Their donation from the Repco Bathurst 1000 will go a long way to helping us achieve our goal of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.”

All the drivers on Sunday’s Bathurst podium received an exclusive Dunlop Podium cap adorned with a Pink Ribbon which represents NBCF.

The 2022 season will continue at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 on October 28-30.

Tickets for the event are on sale now.
