DJR Team Penske unveils Queensland Raceway livery

DJR Team Penske has announced Western Star Trucks asnaming rights partner for the Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint.

Western Star is a premier producer of custom heavy-duty trucks worldwide and the brand has been seen on the #17 DJR Team Penske Ford Falcon FG X since the beginning of the 2015 season on the front window strip.

Increasing the exposure for the 'home' race at Queensland Raceway is the biggest commitment yet seen by Western Star Trucks in its 32 year history in Australia. The team has also chosen the Queensland 'Maroon' colour for the round to celebrate the recent ARL State of Origin victory.

"DJR Team Penske is proud to highlight one of the major Penske brands with primary sponsorship of the #17 Ford Falcon at the next round of the V8 Supercars Championship. Western Star Trucks has featured on the car at every event this year, but this round it takes top billing," said DJR Team Penske Managing Director Ryan Story.

"This is an important part of the team's marketing strategy as we welcome another Penske affiliate company as a primary sponsor. Marcos Ambrose will run the car on Friday morning and Scott Pye will continue the main driving duties in Queensland and we are looking forward to hosting many Western Star Truck guests at the track over the weekend."

President of Penske Transportation Group International Randall Seymore added: "We are very excited to give the Western Star Truck brand such a huge push with naming rights sponsorship of the DJR Team Penske Ford in Queensland. This partnership provides a high-profile platform to showcase the brand and with our office just 35kms away from the race track, it provides ideal interaction with our Western Star Truck customer base here in Queensland."

The Western Star Team Penske Ford Falcon FG X was unveiled today at the team's Open Day in front of an enthusiastic crowd of fans and will be in action at the Coates Hire Ipswich Supersprint on July 31 to August 2 at Queensland Raceway.

Western Star also has an association with fellow Ford team Prodrive Racing Australia.
