The Shell V-Power Racing Team will celebrate 100 years of Repco with a number change.

Repco, which was founded in 1922, is a major backer of the front-running Ford team.

The Anton De Pasquale/Tony D’Alberto Mustang will carry the #100 at this weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

In line with the celebration, DJR also announced a two-year partnership extension with Repco.

Repco, which also has naming rights of the Supercars Championship, first supported Australian motorsport in 1947.

The brand took naming rights of both the championship and Bathurst 1000 last year.

De Pasquale’s regular #11 will take a back seat for the weekend as the team acknowledged Repco’s centenary.

Dick Johnson, whose name is on the team, also has a longstanding relationship with Repco.

Johnson, a three-time Bathurst winner, once worked for Repco delivering orders as a courier.

Both DJR Mustangs will also carry a special tribute livery as the team celebrates its 1000th race.

A retro Repco logo features in the livery, which is DJR’s 1998 colour scheme.

The #100 Ford was unveiled in front of fans on Mount Panorama's pit straight.

There, the Ford Supercar was joined by three vehicles key to Repco's motorsport heritage.

“The Shell V-Power Racing Team has a wonderful partnership in racing and in business with Repco,” DJR Executive Chairman Ryan Story said.

“So what better way to celebrate 100 years of Repco than by running the number 100 on Anton and Tony’s Ford Mustang at the Repco Bathurst 1000.

"We are also delighted to announce a two-year partnership extension with Repco, the leader in the automotive aftermarket sector."

Repco CEO Wayne Bryant added: "This is Repco’s 100th year in business, so it is a very significant time for Repco in Australia and New Zealand.

“It is an incredibly selfless gesture from Ryan Story, Dick Johnson and the entire team at Shell V-Power Racing to change the number of Anton and Tony’s car for the Repco Bathurst 1000.

“For Repco and all our fantastic crew, this signifies why we value our partnership with the team and why we have extended our partnership with them.

"They are a team with family values that strive for excellence everyday. These are mirroring qualities to ours at Repco."

Cars will hit the track at Mount Panorama for Practice 1 on Thursday.

Tickets for the Repco Bathurst 1000 are available on Supercars.com and Ticketek.
