Cars and a new icy theme - what more could a family want in their own dedicated space when spending a day at the racing?

Back again this year, the Disney Zone provides a great place for families to spend time over the course of the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint.

The Disney/Pixar Cars theme continues for 2015, with a new icy touch, including an ice skating rink to keep your kids busy.

V8 Supercars star Mark Winterbottom, who voiced his own cameo character 'Frosty' in Disney/Pixar's Cars 2, is an ambassador for Disney and with young boys of his own, knows just how cool the Disney Zone is when the family is at the track.

"It's a big family area that opens into a big play area for the kids [with] slides, activities," Winterbottom said, speaking to 7AD Devonport.

"This year there's a new theme, an ice theme, so you have to come check it out.

"It's really cool, a little skating rink - it's an incredible setup."

The Disney Zone is open from 10am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, offering the chance for little ones to meet Lightning McQueen and Mack the Transporter, test their pedal power on the Cars race track, bounce around the all new Cars obstacle course, race up and whizz down the super slide, as well as having a go on the newest addition, the Cars ice skating rink.

"If you want to come have fun with the family check out the Disney Zone," Winterbottom said.

"It's an awesome weekend [at the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint] and kids under 12 are free with a paying adult, so another good incentive as well."

Head to the paddock for the only drivers' autograph session on Saturday morning between 9.50am and 10.20am to meet Frosty before he races, fresh off four wins at the Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Winterbottom loves racing at the Symmons Plains circuit, and has said the tight nature produces the most intense qualifying sessions of the year.
