Bryce Fullwood is "extremely grateful" to former teammate Chaz Mostert for his mentorship while at Walkinshaw Andretti United.

Fullwood has shifted from WAU to Brad Jones Racing ahead of the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship.

The 2019 Dunlop Super2 Champion will join Andre Heimgartner in a revamped BJR driver lineup when the season begins in Newcastle.

Fullwood and Mostert both joined WAU in 2020, with the former becoming the first Darwin-born full-time Supercars driver.

WAU has since been featured in the latest season of Inside Line.

Fullwood faced unprecedented challenges during the COVID-impacted 2020 season, and scored his first Supercars podium at Tailem Bend.

The 23-year-old shared his appreciation for his former running mate, including candid photos of the pair during their two-year stint as teammates.

"Well as a new year starts and a new beginning starts for me this year, I wanted to do a final shout out to my teammate Chaz," Fullwood posted to social media.

"I’m extremely grateful for the help and support Chaz has given me over the last two years.

"From on track to off track, Chaz is an awesome bloke and a guy in his prime.

"I’m very thankful he chose to help me in any way he could rather than see me as competition to him.

"Thank you, Chaz, for all your help and mentorship over the last two years. I wish you all the best.

"Our unwritten rule of you still letting me past will still apply though, won’t it? Happy New Year everyone, I hope you're all as excited for 2022 as I am."

It comes after Mostert and Lee Holdsworth raced to victory from pole position in December’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

Mostert, who was confirmed on a multi-year extension with WAU in June, was quick to respond to Fullwood’s compliments.

"Ahh mate you're far too kind," Mostert replied.

"You’re a legend of a bloke, all the best in '22, I’m sure you’ll do great.

"Little bit of camping and fishing and you’ll be hard to beat."

The 13-event 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle on March 4-6. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

The 13-round draft calendar was released during the Repco Bathurst 1000 weekend.
