A closer look into Gen3 componentry has been offered ahead of the official launch of the prototypes in Bathurst.

Gen3-spec prototypes of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Ford Mustang GT will be unveiled on Friday at the Repco Bathurst 1000.

The latest episode of the Gen3 Unpacked series powered by The Garage delves deeper into the key parts of the new cars.

The new cars, which will make their racing debut in 2023, will feature road-relevant styling and new engines, among other key changes from the current ruleset.

Critically, the new episode, hosted by former racer and popular broadcaster Mark Larkham, provides hands-on insight into control parts of Gen3 cars.

Notably, the new cars will feature a hatch in the roof to aid medical response teams, as well as a new fuel hose linkage receptacle.
