It’s no secret that Anton De Pasquale has gelled with Sydney Motorsport Park, with the Shell V-Power Racing Team ace the class of the field.

Through the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight and ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight events, De Pasquale has recorded three wins and four poles.

Last weekend’s ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight marked the first time in 51 career rounds that De Pasquale has been the top point scorer across a round.

De Pasquale recorded finishes of 12th, first and second and helped himself to 238 points for the round.

Teammate Will Davison was second with 230 points, ahead of Red Bull Ampol Racing duo Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen.

It marked the first instance that Shell V-Power Racing Team drivers scored the most points across a championship weekend since the Newcastle round in 2019.

De Pasquale has been on a tear since Townsville; in 11 starts, he has recorded seven podiums. Only van Gisbergen (eight) has claimed more podiums in that timeframe.

Conversely, Whincup has recorded six podiums, Davison three, Chaz Mostert three and Cameron Waters two.

De Pasquale has quietly climbed the championship ladder; before Townsville, he was 369 points from third in the championship. To this weekend, he is 276 points from third.

Van Gisbergen opened the ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight weekend with a win and was second behind De Pasquale in Race 24. However, the series leader's weekend efforts were let down by his 23rd in the finale.

Whincup, meanwhile, bookended a 25th in Race 24 with second on Saturday night and victory on Sunday night. Whincup’s Race 24 result was influenced by a puncture.

Van Gisbergen’s Race 25 struggles ensured the fight for the Beaurepaires Sydney Cup remains wide open.

Seven drivers are covered by 99 points, with van Gisbergen leading Davison by just 28 points.

De Pasquale, who was excluded from Race 21 due to a tyre mix-up, is 45 points from van Gisbergen.

De Pasquale lost 74 points due to his Race 21 exclusion. He would be clear in the Sydney Cup lead otherwise.

Nick Percat has been Mr Consistent; he has finished in the top four on four occasions, and is 58 points behind van Gisbergen.

Whincup, Will Brown and Mostert - who charged from 26th to third on Sunday night - are 61, 85 and 99 points down respectively.

There will be 100 points on offer for the winner of races at this weekend’s BP Ultimate Sydney SuperSprint, with five bonus points for the driver who sets the fastest lap.

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will resume this weekend at the BP Ultimate Sydney SuperSprint.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will showcase highlights of the event.

Tickets for the event are on sale now.
