Anton De Pasquale has refused to rule out Shane van Gisbergen despite the points leader's winless Perth record.

Van Gisbergen arrives at his bogey track 144 points to the good over De Pasquale.

Wanneroo Raceway has proven tough for van Gisbergen to crack.

Van Gisbergen has never won in Perth; it is the only remaining active circuit where he has failed to claim victory.

Conversely, Shell Fords have won the last six races in Perth dating back to 2017.

The last time van Gisbergen arrived at a circuit he had never won before, Sandown last March, he won all three races.

De Pasquale kept his focus in-house, but ceded van Gisbergen will remain an ever-present threat.

Davison and De Pasquale at Crown Perth on Thursday

“We’re trying to beat everyone, and he’s included in that,” De Pasquale said of van Gisbergen.

“I’m sure he’s trying to do the same. There’s no place you can count him out, or anyone else.

“We’ll be doing our own thing and worrying about ourselves, and trying to go as fast as we can, because that’s what wins races."

De Pasquale and teammate Will Davison combine for five poles in 2022, but neither driver has won a race.

Considering Shell Fords were the form car in Perth, they are the ones to beat.

Regardless of van Gisbergen or Chaz Mostert's winning form, De Pasquale was adamant the biggest pressure remains from within.

“No more pressure than normal,” De Pasquale said.

“We always put a lot pf pressure on ourselves, more so than externally, to perform.

Second in 2016 is van Gisbergen's best Perth finish

“We’ve had a good run here and a lot of success, but not with myself and Will.

“It’s our first time here with the team, so we’re hoping to continue that success.”

Davison echoed the sentiment, saying much has changed since Perth's last appearance in 2019.

That includes the track itself, which has evolved since it was resurfaced in the 2018-19 off-season.

“It’s nice to look at statistics and see what suits your package,” Davison said.

“Clearly we’ve been good here the last couple of occasions we’ve visited.

“But you never get caught up in the past too much, things evolve very quickly… it’s all about the now."

Cars will hit the track for practice on Saturday ahead of the floodlit Race 10.
