Anton De Pasquale has been hit with a post-race penalty over an incident with Nick Percat.

De Pasquale clashed with Percat at Turn 13 on lap 11. Percat was 10th at the time, with De Pasquale 12th.

Stewards later imposed De Pasquale with a 15-second time penalty for a driving infringement.

De Pasquale was adjudged to have been careless in the incident, with Percat finishing 18th.

De Pasquale drops from 10th to 20th in the classification, with Percat moving up to 17th.

The 26-year-old will start from pole position for Saturday’s afternoon’s Race 8.

The Shell V-Power Racing Team was also fined after "an admission to a breach of Rule C 11.4.2.1(b) (Brake System Requirements – during any Pit Stop while the brake lock mechanism is engaged, the rear brake pressure must be a minimum of 20bar) at Car 11’s, Anton de Pasquale, Pit Stop during Race 7.”

It was the second time in as many days the team had been pinged for the issue.

Stewards were kept busy in Race 7, with three driving infringement penalties handed out.

Will Brown was first handed a drive-through penalty after he turned Andre Heimgartner into the wall at Turn 13.

Cam Waters was later slapped with a penalty after he sent Will Davison into the Turn 3 gravel trap.

The race ended in high drama following an incident between Chaz Mostert and James Courtney.

The two were fighting for third, with Courtney tagged into the Turn 14 barrier on the final lap.

Mostert was penalised post-race, dropping him to 22nd.

It helped Lee Holdsworth sweep into third, having started 15th.

The 20-lap Race 8 will commence at 2:20m AEST.
