Will Davison has so far firmed as the one-lap king in 2022, a mantle teammate Anton De Pasquale held last year.

Through three rounds, Davison has scored the most poles and has qualified in the top 10 for every race.

From there, it's no surprise Davison has the best average starting position in 2022.

Davison's average start of 3.1 betters teammate De Pasquale, who is next best on 4.2.

De Pasquale was the qualifying king in 2021, scoring a season-high 11 ARMOR ALL Pole Positions.

De Pasquale had 11 poles to Davison's two in 2021, out-qualified his senior teammate 21 times to 10, and had a 4.1 average start to Davison's 5.2.

After nine races in 2022, Davison has out-qualified De Pasquale five to four.

Davison also has a better average finish (5.1 to 6.6), but De Pasquale did most of his grunt work in the dual 150-point Sydney races.

De Pasquale finished second and third in Sydney, with Davison fourth and seventh.

Van Gisbergen has out-qualified rookie teammate Broc Feeney 6-3 so far this season, although Feeney has a better average starting position.

Van Gisbergen's average is let down by his starts of 21st (Sydney) and 23rd (Melbourne).

Only seven drivers have an average starting position in single figures; however, it has so far meant little in race trim.

Just one of nine races have been won from pole position in 2022; that came courtesy of Shane van Gisbergen in Tasmania.

That form will be put under the microscope in Perth next weekend, where 62 of 89 races have been won from the front row.

Davison has also won three races in Perth; van Gisbergen has never won at Wanneroo Raceway.

Shell Fords have also won the last six races at the Barbagallo circuit.

Can Davison finally put his one-lap form to use and end his six-year winless drought next weekend?
