Busy off-season for Courtney

James Courtney has announced he is engaged to his girlfriend Tegan Woodford.

The Tickford Racing driver posted a photo showing Woodford’s new engagement ring to his social accounts on Tuesday.

The pair travelled to the Whitsundays last week, where Courtney popped the question at Hardy Reef on the Great Barrier Reef on Sunday.

"She said YES!" Courtney captioned his announcement.

Makeup artist and model Woodford joined in sharing her excitement to her own social accounts, admitting the 41-year-old driver is the “best thing that ever a happened to me”.

The couple began dating last year, with the pair first sharing their relationship publicly while enjoying a cruise around Sydney Harbour in April.

Living with Courtney at his home on the Gold Coast, Woodford has travelled to Repco Supercars Championship events in Tasmania, Melbourne, and Bathurst throughout 2021.

Fans were quick to share their well-wishes for the happy couple.

“Congratulations, wishing you both all the love and good fortune a relationship can bring,” wrote one fan.

“Congrats JC, nice way to start the year,” added another.

The Supercars paddock also shared their happiness for the couple.

“Congrats guys,” wrote Courtney’s Bathurst 1000 co-driver, Randle.

“Congrats you two,” Jack Perkins added.

Courtney ended his 2021 season on a high at Mount Panorama, combining with Thomas Randle to finish seventh in the Repco Bathurst 1000.

The 2010 champion recorded a breakthrough podium for Tickford in Sydney in November, marking his first podium result since Darwin 2020.

Courtney extended his contract with the Tickford squad for 2022, alongside current teammate Cameron Waters and newcomers Jake Kostecki and Randle.
