The DRD conducted a post-race investigation into an allegation that Car #97, Shane van Gisbergen, deviated his line under braking on entry to Turn 2 during the final lap of the Race in breach of the Driving Code of Conduct and determined the incident did not warrant being referred to the Stewards.

Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed

Following a post-race DRD investigation and an admission by Car #99, Dale Wood, of a breach of Rule D12.8.9 (allowing wheels to rotate while the Car was not on the ground without permission of the S&TD), the Stewards imposed the penalty of a post-race Pit Lane Penalty (the addition of 25 seconds to the Race Time) for Car #99, Dale Wood.

Following a post-race DRD investigation and an admission by Car #23, Michael Caruso, of a breach of Rule D12.8.9 (allowing wheels to rotate while the Car was not on the ground without permission of the S&TD), the Stewards imposed the penalty of a post-race Pit Lane Penalty (the addition of 25 seconds to the Race Time) for Car #23, Michael Caruso.

Following a post-race DRD investigation and an admission by Car #33, James Moffatt, of a breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Careless Driving, causing a collision at Turn 2 on Lap 1 of the Race), the Stewards imposed a 15 second Time Penalty (15 seconds be added to the Race Time) for Car #33, James Moffatt.

Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed

The Stewards imposed a fine of $350 on Car #88, Jamie Whincup, for exceeding the pit lane speed limit at pit entry (45kph).

Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed

Following an investigation by the DRD and admissions by both Brad Jones Racing and Tim Blanchard Racing that they failed to have their garages open and cars uncovered during the pit lane walk on 8 July 2017 (Rule D28), the Stewards imposed a penalty of a fine of $1000 on both competitors but suspended the fine until 31 December 2017.
