The BP Ultimate Sydney SuperSprint is set to host a bumper state category grid on the Repco Supercars Championship undercard.

A record 47-car field will line up for the final round of the NSW Improved Production Series across November 13-14.

It marks the first NSW Improved Production Series event in 174 days.

The category will return to the Eastern Creek venue after long lay-offs amid the COVID-19 outbreak in NSW.

The Haltech V8 SuperUtes will also return to Sydney Motorsport Park, for the second time this season, following their appearance at the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

The NSW Improved Production Series will open Saturday’s on-track activities with a 20-minute practice session.

The diverse grid will see twelve different marques competing in the series, across three races.

Former Improved Production NSW champion Jordan Cox will return to the category in his turbocharged Suzuki Swift.

“It’s a great chance to blow away the cobwebs ahead of a big end of the year,” said Cox.

“The Swift is such a blast to drive and it’s awesome to see so many racers coming out to support the category.”

Kurt Macready’s Nissan Silvia leads the Under 2L championship, while Lachlan McBrien (BMW M3) and Trevan Spiteri (Mitsubishi Evo 6) are tied in points for the Over 2L championship.

Other manufacturers include Ford, Honda, Holden, Renault, Mazda and Toyota.

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will resume this weekend at the BP Ultimate Sydney SuperSprint.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will showcase highlights of the event.

Tickets for the event are on sale now.
