The 2023 Supercars grid is all but set following Cameron Hill’s confirmation at Matt Stone Racing.

MSR will enter the Gen3 era with an established driver and Supercars rookie.

Hill will replace MSR incumbent Todd Hazelwood, with Jack Le Brocq staying on for a second season with the Yatala team.

There have been four seat changes for the 2023 season relative to 2022.

It’s a far cry from the 2022 silly season, which included several changes.

Some 10 seats changed hands from 2021 into 2022.

That includes Broc Feeney replacing the retiring Jamie Whincup, and Nick Percat returning to the Walkinshaw fold.

Hill will be one of two rookies

The Hill announcement effectively locks in in the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship field.

The likes of Bryce Fullwood and Macauley Jones at Brad Jones Racing are yet to be confirmed.

However, there aren't expected to be any other changes.

Hill and Matt Payne — who will replace the retiring Lee Holdsworth at Penrite Racing — will be the only rookies on the 2023 grid.

Holdsworth and Chris Pither will not race full-time in 2023.

Pither will be replaced at PremiAir Racing by Tim Slade, who in turn is being succeeded by Hazelwood.

The major change for 2023 is Walkinshaw Andretti United’s shift to Ford.

The VALO Adelaide 500 will be WAU’s last event as a Holden/General Motors team.

The team has campaigned Commodores since its inception under the Holden Racing Team banner in 1990.

All other Holden teams will revert Commodores for Chevrolet Camaros for 2023.

Ford teams, meanwhile, will campaign the new seventh-generation Mustang, which was unveiled in Bathurst last month.

There will be 15 Camaros and 10 Ford Mustangs on the 2023 Supercars grid.

Drivers will get behind the wheel of their new Gen3 cars in January.

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence on the Newcastle streets next March.
