DJR Team Penske will work through the night at Pace Innovations in Yatala after Fabian Coulthard’s accident at the Castrol Gold Coast 600 today.
Coulthard was tapped by competitor Garth Tander on the front straight at 265km/hour, leaving his Ford Falcon FG X smashed with just a handful of laps remaining in the race.
While the team will not confirm whether the car will be repaired successfully for tomorrow, the group seems hopeful the work will pay off.
Tander was handed a pit lane penalty and will cop a 10 grid spot penalty in tomorrow’s race after being charged with reckless driving.
They were fighting over fifth position when the accident occurred.
