An April date has been set for the 2023 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

Next year’s event will run from March 30 until April 2, with F1 on track from March 31.

The date is pending confirmation by the FIA World Motor Sport Council.

It comes after F1 announced the Australian Grand Prix will remain in Melbourne until 2035.

The new 10-year agreement will commence from 2025.

F1 feeder categories Formula 2 and Formula 3 will also race in Melbourne.

The Repco Supercars Championship has raced alongside F1 at Albert Park since the venue’s 1996 debut.

Supercars returned to Albert Park in April

Supercars has raced for points on the Albert Park streets since 2018.

This year’s Australian Grand Prix attracted over 419,000 fans across the four days.

Supercars was on track at Albert Park on all four days for the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400.

Shane van Gisbergen and Chaz Mostert shared the four wins, with Holden winning its final race at Albert Park.

The Gen3 era will debut in 2023 with Chevrolet Camaros to race alongside Ford Mustangs.

The new Supercars season is set to commence in Newcastle on 10-12 March 2023, three weeks before the Grand Prix.

The 2022 season will return to Melbourne this weekend for the Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint.
