The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship grid has already seen some change in the new year with the Team Sydney sale.

It was confirmed last week that Team Sydney had been sold to businessman and drag racer Peter Xiberras.

It ended over a decade of team ownership by the Webb family, skippered by 2016 Bathurst winner Jonathan Webb.

Xiberras confirmed the team will no longer be based in Sydney, and the team will continue to run Triple Eight-built ZB Commodores.

The team has yet to confirm if incumbent drivers Fabian Coulthard and Garry Jacobson will continue on in 2022.

Both drivers are contracted to Team Sydney, although Xiberras said he is "kind of still piecing it all together”.

Regardless, of the 25 cars on the 2022 grid, 16 will feature the same driver versus 2021.

The former Tekno squad is one of five teams - along with Shell V-Power Racing Team, Team 18, Erebus Motorsport and Blanchard Racing Team - to head into 2022 unchanged.

Prior to the Team Sydney sale, the 2022 was thought to be completed.

Bathurst winner Lee Holdsworth sealed a full-time return with Grove Racing, having impressed at Walkinshaw Andretti United at Mount Panorama.

The PremiAir brand will have a greater presence on the grid

Jake Kostecki and Thomas Randle both join Tickford Racing, while Broc Feeney replaces the retired Jamie Whincup at Red Bull Ampol Racing.

Nick Percat and Bryce Fullwood completed an effective swap; Percat to WAU, and Fullwood to Brad Jones Racing.

BJR also recruited Andre Heimgartner, who was replaced at the Grove squad by Holdsworth.

Matt Stone Racing, meanwhile, will have an all-new line-up of Todd Hazelwood and Jack Le Brocq.
