Five-time Bathurst 1000 winner Garth Tander will be special guest at V8 Sleuth’s next Open Night event held at this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour GT race.

To be held on the evening of Friday February 3 at the National Motor Racing Museum at Mount Panorama, the Open Night has been a regular part of Bathurst 1000 race week, though this year marks the second time one has been held coinciding with the 12 Hour GT race.

Hosted by V8 Sleuth’s Aaron Noonan, the night involves a major sit-down interview with the 2007 Supercars Champion. Fans will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions to the 2002 Bathurst 24 Hour winner in a Q&A session.

Tickets are now on sale here for the Bathurst 12 Hour V8 Sleuth Open Night.

Tander was in the news pre-Christmas when his shock deal to sign a Ford Mustang with Grove Racing for this year’s Sandown and Bathurst Supercars endurance races was confirmed.

He won last year’s Repco Bathurst 1000 with Shane van Gisbergen for Red Bull Ampol Racing, the duo’s second ‘Great Race’ triumph together given they also won in 2020.

Tander is a five-time Bathurst 1000 winner. He won the 2000 race with Jason Bargwanna for Garry Rogers Motorsport and 2009 and 2011 for the Holden Racing Team in addition to his successes with Triple Eight.

The 45-year-old has made 24 Bathurst 1000 race starts dating back to 1998 but he’s no stranger to the 12 Hour GT race.

He made five Bathurst 12 Hour starts – all at the wheel of Melbourne Performance Centre Audis – between 2016 and 2020.

Tickets for the 2023 LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour are on sale now on Ticketek.com.
