Scott Pye will have a new race engineer in 2022 as part of Team 18’s engineering reshuffle.

Richard Hollway, the team’s chief engineer, will also take on the role of Pye’s race engineer this season.

It comes as Phil Keed, who engineered Pye in 2020 and 2021, returns to Brad Jones Racing.

Mark Winterbottom will continue to be skippered by Manuel Sanchez for a third straight season.

Hollway joined Team 18 last year, and arrived at the Victorian squad armed with an enviable record.

A fixture of the Holden Racing Team’s glory days, Hollway skippered four Bathurst 1000 wins and five consecutive championships.

He also spent a decade at Garry Rogers Motorsport as chief engineer, notably enjoying success with Scott McLaughlin.

Sanchez himself joined Team 18 from GRM, having spent six seasons with the team.

Mark Sylvester will be data engineer on the #20, with Rory Jackermis on the #18.

Pye and Winterbottom will remain in their existing Triple Eight chassis for 2022 ahead of the new-for-2023 Gen3 ruleset.

"As a team we’ve made a couple of tweaks to our structure for the start of the 2022 season,” team owner Charlie Schwerkolt said.

"We’ve got ‘Krusty’ [Hollway] who’ll now work with Scott Pye on the #20 car, with Manuel Sanchez continuing with Frosty [Winterbottom] on the #18 for the third straight year which is great for them.

"It’s an exciting change for the #20 car, both Krusty and Scott have already been in the race shop bouncing ideas off each other and we’re looking forward to seeing what they can achieve this year.

"Phil has made an incredible contribution to this team over the last three years and we wish him all the best with the next phase of his career.

"The team is a hive of activity at the moment and the energy amongst the staff has been so strong leading into the new season.”

Team 18’s new-look engineering line-up will be put to the test for the first time in Sydney in March. CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets.
