DUEL RACE 2

It’s become apparent that as sure as the sun will rise, Shane van Gisbergen and Anton De Pasquale will start on the front row of the grid in the BP Supercars All Stars Eseries.

De Pasquale had his worst ever qualifying result, sixth in the ARMOR ALL Qualifying session, which determined which duel race drivers started in ahead of tonight’s Race 27.

Shane van Gisbergen claimed provisional pole and then edged out Scott McLaughlin for top spot on the grid in Duel Race 1.

In Duel Race 2 it was Chaz Mostert who started from the front but on the final lap it was De Pasquale and Brad Jones Racing’s Macauley Jones who were in a two-way battle.

In the end De Pasquale edged Jones by 0.047 which means yet again he and van Gisbergen will start on the front row in the virtual series.

Tonight’s wildcards were formidable in qualifying.

Dunlop Super2 Series driver Jordan Boys will start from 10th position, Tickford’s Michael Caruso will start from 13th, Repco Mustang driver Aaron Seton will start 20th while Danish F1 prodigy Christian Lundgaard will start alongside drifting champion, Mad Mike near the back of the pack.

The result of Duel Race 1 has determined what order the inside lane will start in the opening race of the night, the result of Duel Race 2 will determine the outside lane.
