Cindric is a two-time winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the son of Team Penske president, Tim Cindric.

Joining from his home in the US, Cindric will pilot the #56 Ford Mustang, with a livery similar to the one used by fellow NASCAR Champion Joey Logano a fortnight ago.

He took to social media to make the announcement this evening saying:

“Really excited to share that I’ll be part of the Supercars Eseries grid at Circuit of the Americas this week,” the 21-year old said.

“Really cool opportunity for me because I’ve always been a big fan of the series itself. The cars, the tracks, the drivers, the whole format I’ve really enjoyed.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for the guys that do it week in week out so looking forward to going back and forth with them on the track.

“I know I’m going to have my work cut out for me, so hopefully Scotty [McLaughlin] and Fabs [Coulthard] can get me on the pace.

“Overall really cool opportunity, thank you to Ford Australia for getting me involved and looking forward to being a part of the show.”

Cindric joins Formula 1 superstar Lando Norris, three-time Bathurst winner Garth Tander and Dunlop Super2 rookie Josh Fife as wildcards for the COTA round. One more wildcard is being announced on Supercars Sidetracked this evening on Fox Sports 506.

Qualifying will be broadcast exclusively on Fox Sports 506 from 6pm AEST, with the races broadcast live from 7pm on Fox Sports, Kayo, 10 Play, Sky Sports (NZ), Facebook, Twitch and YouTube. 10 Bold will also show a full replay on Saturday afternoon from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
