Main Beach Residents & Business Information

The streets of Main Beach will soon be transformed in preparation for the 2023 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 with construction to begin on Monday 18 September.

At various times, traffic conditions will be altered and delays could be experienced.

Supercars has worked closely with several stakeholders including the City of Gold Coast, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Queensland Police Service and Translink to ensure this event can be carried out safely while minimising inconvenience to local residents and businesses.

Please refer to the Construction Schedule for further details on when various streets will be affected. Note that these pages will be updated regularly.

If you wish to receive weekly email updates, please email [email protected] to be added to the mailing list.

A number of streets and buildings in Main Beach are considered within the race precinct and therefore residents are entitled to resident accreditation

  • Tedder Avenue will be open for business as usual for the duration of construction and throughout Event Week

  • Main Beach is best accessed via Waterways Dr during Event Week (Monday October 23 - Monday October 30)

  • During Event Week, Tedder Avenue from Cronin Avenue south is accessible by local traffic only

  • Further information including a full list of streets affected and the construction schedule will be available on our website

The Main Beach Traffic Area

  • The City of Gold Coast will enact the Main Beach Traffic Area over the weekend with the 2 hour traffic zone in place.

  • Resident event parking permits will be distributed by Supercars week commencing October 16, 2023. These will be delivered to Building Managers (for high rise complexes) and mail boxes (for homes and units). Residents do not need to apply via the City of Gold Coast website for Main Beach Traffic Area permits.

  • These permits will allow residents extended parking in the specified 2 hour Event Parking zones. These permits DO NOT override regular City of Gold Coast parking signs. Please ensure you take a moment to check when parking on the streets of Main Beach.

  • The two hour parking zone is marked on the Event Map and via the City of Gold Coast website and will only be in force from 9am - 5pm on Friday 27 October, Saturday 28 October and Sunday 29 October.

  • If residents/businesses require additional parking passes, they can be supplied upon presentation of identification to confirm your residency. We will be located in the Accreditation Centre (demountable buildings) on Breaker Street from Saturday 21 October until Sunday 29 October.
