Resident Information

FAQs

What is “accreditation”?

Accreditation is the term used for the wristbands and tickets issued to those who reside within the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 event precinct for them to gain access to their homes during the event.

 What is the “event precinct”?

The “event precinct” refers to the area located within the gated fence. Those residing in the affected area, on the outside of the fenced event precinct, do not require accreditation to access their properties and therefore no tickets will be issued for the event.

Residents in the surrounding affected suburbs of Main Beach and Paradise Waters will be issued with 24hour parking passes for on-street parking for their vehicles. Vehicle passes will be distributed in the weeks leading up to the event.

When do I need accreditation?

From 12.01am on Friday, 19 October to 9.00pm on Sunday, 21 October 2018, the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 precinct will be secured, and entry will be via accreditation or a valid event ticket only (Ticketek, Corporate Pass etc.). It is very important that you carry your accreditation with you always, as it will be necessary to show this to security to re-enter the precinct.

When do applications for Resident Accreditation open and close?

Online applications will OPEN at 9.00am, Saturday, 1 September 2018 and CLOSE at 5.00pm, online application will not close and will be monitored right up until the event weekend. Online Applications close for delivery to the Building Manager Friday, 28 September 2018 at 5:00pm.

What happens if I miss the online application cut-off deadline for Delivery to the Building Manager?

If you miss the online application deadline for delivery to your building manager, you will need to collect your accreditation from the Accreditation Centre located on the corner or Breaker St and Tedder Avenue, Main Beach. The Accreditation Centre will open 8am, Thursday 11 October 2018.

Who can apply for Resident Accreditation?

All permanent owners/occupiers, permanent tenants and non-resident owners who will be residing within their properties during the three days of the event can apply for accreditation. You cannot apply for accreditation on behalf of anyone else; this includes Building Managers and Companies who lease more than one property.

Who is considered a Permanent Owner/Occupier?

A permanent owner/occupier is a person who owns a property located within the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 event precinct and uses the property as their primary place of residence.

Who is considered a Non-Resident Owner?

A non-resident owner is a person who owns a property located within the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 precinct but does not use it as their principal place of residence. The non-resident owner must be in residence from Friday, 19 October to Sunday, 21 October 2018 to apply for accreditation.

Who is considered a Permanent Tenant?

A permanent tenant is a person who has a Lease (for a minimum of three (3) months) which will be current during the event period; Friday, 19 October to Sunday, 21 October 2018. Permanent Tenants must provide a copy of their current Lease showing verification of all tenants listed on the application form and a copy of the Rental Bond Authority receipt. Only those persons listed on the Lease will be eligible for accreditation. Alternatively, you can provide a recent copy of a utility bill, i.e.: power or telephone bill, addressed to you at your place of residence.

What if the Property is owned by a Family Trust or a Company?

You must provide evidence that you are named in the Family Trust or as a Director of the Company. We will then accredit you and your direct family members – not guests.

What happens if my Company owns or leases more than one residence within the precinct?

Should the Company or Family Trust own more than one property within the precinct, accreditation will only be issued once for each Company Director or member of the Family Trust.

What if my unit is holiday let?

Accreditation is not issued for holiday let units. It is only issued to residents and non-resident owners in order for them to access their home during the event. It is illegal to offer resident accreditation to holiday makers, or package accreditation into the cost of the holiday let.

Holiday makers must purchase an event ticket through Ticketek to enter the precinct PLUS an Accommodation Access Pass to enter the property. Accommodation Access Passes can only be purchased directly through Building Manager’s at the property they are holiday letting.

If you are found breaching the above; your future resident applications will not be approved, and you will no longer be eligible for any form of resident accreditation.

What amount of accreditation is a resident entitled to?

The amount of accreditation issued is based on how many bedrooms are in the residency. You are eligible for 2 passes per bedroom; and an additional 2 passes for any guest you might have. Passes will not exceed the following:

Permanent resident/tenants

Number of Bedrooms Max. Number of Resident Passes Issued
1 4
2 6
3 8

Passes are not transferable and cannot be sold. The number of accreditation passes issued per unit is subject to the discretion of the Supercars Accreditation Department.

What about the car and parking?

Once the gates to the precinct are secured (from 12.01am on Friday, 19 October 2018) you will not be able to drive your vehicle inside the gated race precinct between the hours of 7am - 7pm on Friday and Saturday and between 7am - 9pm on Sunday of the event. It is extremely important that your vehicle is removed from the race track and all roadways within the gated race precinct PRIOR to 6:30am each morning. Failure to follow this instruction could result in your car being removed at your expense. If your car has been towed, please contact Micks Towing Service on 0411 715 630 for vehicle retrieval.

Complimentary parking is provided at the Bruce Bishop Car Park during the event for residents unable to access their properties.  Please Note: you must apply for resident vehicle passes during your online accreditation application so that they can be displayed to the attendant at the car park – persons not displaying a car pass will be charged normal rates. If you were issued a Bruce Bishop car pass last year and did not use it, you will not be issued one again this year.

Bougainvillea, The Inlet, Melaleuca, Sunbird Beach Resort, XXV Breaker St and Axis driveways are accessible 24 hours a day. Residents of these buildings will be issued with two (2) Resident Vehicle Passes. Vehicle passes must be displayed at all times and all passengers in the vehicle will be required to show their accreditation at the access gates to the event precinct.

Parking in the areas surrounding the precinct is also affected, including Main Beach and Paradise Waters. Residents in these areas will be issued with 24hour on street parking passes as local traffic will be restricted to 2hour parking from 9am – 5pm each day of the event. There is no parking provided in these areas for residents that reside within the event precinct.

Do my friends/guests need to pay?

The accreditation is issued to residents and non-resident owners in order for them to access their home. Any other people who wish to access the units during this time must have both an event ticket (either a Trackside, Fanstand, Grandstand or Corporate ticket) to enter the precinct PLUS an Accommodation Access Pass to enter the property. Guests cannot enter the precinct with an Accommodation Access Pass only.

Please Note: the precinct locks down after racing each day and only those with resident accreditation or patrons with an event ticket and an Accommodation Access Pass will be able to enter. Patrons with Ticketek or Corporate tickets who do not have Accommodation Access Passes cannot enter the precinct after 5pm or before 7am each day of racing. Accommodation Access Passes can only be purchased directly through the Building Manager. Event tickets can be purchased through Ticketek.

What if I have planned a party on this weekend?

Unfortunately, anyone outside your resident allocation, must have a valid event ticket PLUS an accommodation access pass purchased from your Building manager. They can purchase event tickets from Ticketek.

Does my child need accreditation?

Children under 12 are not required to wear any form of accreditation, providing they are with an adult who holds a valid resident accreditation or event ticket.
