To prepare for the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 (24–26 October 2025), a series of construction works, road closures and traffic changes will take place in Surfers Paradise and Main Beach.
We’ll keep this page updated with weekly notices, maps and access guides so residents, businesses and visitors know what to expect.
From Monday 15 September 2025, works will begin in Surfers Paradise and Main Beach to transform the precinct into the GC500 circuit. Construction will run for approximately nine (9) weeks, with deconstruction continuing after the event into November.
Construction activities include:
Installing barrier and debris fencing
Building temporary structures (grandstands, corporate suites, pedestrian bridges, marquees)
Site preparation in and around public parks
Approved work hours:
Day: Monday to Saturday, 7:00am – 6:00pm
Night: Monday to Friday, 6:00pm – 5:00am
Each week we’ll publish a Build Notice summarising the roads impacted, public access changes, noise management and transport service updates.
Current Week (from Monday 15 September 2025):
Gold Coast Highway (southbound) – Full road closures overnight (Mon–Fri, 7:00pm–5:00am). Diversions in place.
Surfers Paradise Boulevard – Full road closure, Friday 1:00am–5:00am.
Main Beach Parade – Stop/Slow traffic, Thurs–Fri 7:00am–5:00pm.
Breaker Street – Stop/Slow traffic, Monday 7:00am–5:00pm.
Macintosh Island Park – Access from Admiralty Drive restricted until 8 November 2025. Alternate entry via north/south bridges. Playground and amenities remain open.

Some bus stops in the precinct will be closed 6:00pm–5:00am daily during the construction period. Alternative stops will be clearly signed.
Example affected stops: Tedder Avenue (Cronin Ave, Montgomery Ave, Lennie Ave), Ferny Ave @ Ocean Ave, Main Beach Station.
