Matt Chahda is getting ever closer to that maiden Super2 race win. The privateer driver is keen to finally break through in 2024, in a year he also plans to run main game wildcards.

The addition of engineer Brian Cottee to the family-owned and run team in 2021 unlocked a new level of performance from the Alburysider, who finished a career-best fourth in points that year and came within an ace of breaking through for maiden Super2 race and round wins in 2022.

His 2022 campaign was capped by an impressive main game debut as a wildcard at the Repco Bathurst 1000, finishing 18th with Jaylyn Robotham.

Chahda is following in the footsteps of father Amin, who was champion of the AMRC-run V8 Touring Car Challenge in the mid 2000s and raced AUSCARs at Calder Park Thunderdome.

Matt spent time in karts before cutting his teeth in the V8 Touring Car Series, finishing fourth in the 2014 series. He made his Super2 Series debut in Adelaide in 2015 driving a Commodore for sport Race Engineering but parted ways with the team soon after, instead electing to run under his family team banner with an ex-Scott McLaughlin Stone Brothers Racing Falcon.

Chahda continued to race that car in 2016, where he hit the headlines for involvement in a multi-car, first corner accident at Sandown.

He then aimed to progress into the Repco Supercars Championship in 2017 but wasn't granted the required Superlicence to compete, so he returned to Super2.

Taking over an ex-DJR Team Penske Ford Falcon FG X in 2019, Chahda finished seventh in that year's series before going two better in 2020, chalking up his first top-five race finish in the process.
