Chris Smerdon has over three decades of racing experience to his name heading into 2023.
Smerdon will drive a Matt Stone Racing-prepared VF Commodore in Super3 this season.
The veteran racer joined the touring car ranks in 1992 when he purchased a Perkins Engineering-built VL Commodore.
A privateer in the 1990s, Smerdon competed in V8 Brutes and later, the third-tier of Supercars competition.
He claimed the V8 Touring Car Series title in 2008, and has been a regular in the third-tier since its transition into Super3 in 2019.
