Charlotte Poynting’s racing career began when she received a go-kart for her 11th birthday.
The Newcastle driver subsequently forged a reputation as one of the top female karters, winning the Women’s Nationals in both the Clubman Light and Senior National Light classes in 2015.
Poynting progressed to Aussie Racing Cars in 2016, and in '17 became the first female driver to win a race in the category.
Her efforts were recognised with the 2017/18 WAMS Junior Development Scholarship.
Through her association with Western Sydney Motorsport, for which she drives in Aussie Racing Cars, Poynting has scored a SuperUtes seat for the Bathurst and Newcastle rounds aboard a newly-built WSM Toyota Hilux.
