Callum Walker will have the biggest learning curve of any of the rookies in this year's Dunlop Super2 Series as he makes the transition to circuit racing from Sprint Cars.

A third generation speedway racer, Walker began racing Sprint Cars at just 16 years of age, winning feature races at his local Archerfield Speedway and emerging in recent seasons as a rising star of the sport.

However, two serious back injuries from crashes in 2018 and last Easter - breaking three lumbar vertebrae in the former and two thoracic vertebrae in the latter - prompted him to curtail his promising speedway career.

His path to Supercars may be very different to his contemporaries but it had a similar starting point. Walker grew up racing karts, where he battled against - and beat - emerging Supercars talent like Will Brown, Bryce Fullwood, Zane Goddard and Jayden Ojeda.

He will have a good steed in which to make his Supercars debut: Walker's privateer squad will lease from PremiAir Racing the Triple Eight-built Holden that James Golding piloted to impressive results last year.
