ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking to expand the video production capabilities for our digital content, with a Digital Video Production Editor.

The Digital Video Production Editor will play a pivotal role in generating video content for our digital platforms. Whether it’s crafting race highlights, behind-the-scenes, or Supercars lifestyle content, the successful candidate will be responsible for editing and producing high-quality videos that engage our digital audiences and elevate the Supercars brand.

Key to the success of this role will be a grounding in design and creation of motion graphics, as well as proficiency in Premier Pro to quickly turn around edits for our digital platforms.

Understanding social-first content principles, and experience creating highly-engaging social content is a must. The successful candidate will be required to help inform the wider team on content trends within the social platforms.

ROLE LOCATION:

This role is based out of the Supercars office in North Sydney, New South Wales.

REPORTING OF THIS ROLE:

This role reports to the Digital Lead and the Head of Content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Video Editing: Utilize your expertise in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) to edit raw footage into polished and visually stunning videos. This includes cutting, splicing, adding effects, and incorporating audio to create seamless and engaging content. It’s crucial that the successful candidate is proficient at editing 16.9 into 9.16 and 1.1 outputs for different digital and social platforms.

  • Post-Production: Manage the post-production process of digital video content, including the design and creation of motion graphics, colour correction, audio mixing, and adding graphics or visual effects to enhance the final product. Ensure that all videos meet quality standards and are delivered on schedule.

  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the content creation team to conceptualise and execute video projects for distribution across the Supercars digital platforms. This may involve brainstorming ideas, storyboarding, and scriptwriting. This essential role will bring a ‘social lens’ to the Supercars’ content creation.

  • Race Coverage: Attend Supercars events to capture footage and produce real-time race highlights, post-race recaps, and behind-the-scenes content. This requires flexibility, quick decision-making, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews of edited videos to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines. Make necessary revisions and adjustments as needed to maintain the highest level of quality.

  • Asset Management: Organise and maintain video assets in a structured and accessible manner, including footage libraries, project files, and archived content. Implement best practices for file naming, version control, and backup protocols.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a video editor for digital and social platforms, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.

  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.

  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to convey compelling narratives through video content.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for visual composition and aesthetics.

  • Knowledge of current trends in digital / social media and video production techniques.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel to attend Supercars events as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Solid understanding of Adobe Photoshop

  • Basic understanding of Adobe After Effects

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in film production, media studies, or a related field.

  • Basic video/camera skills
