The fast and flowing circuit laid around a horse racing track is a permanent fixture in the city. Racing the Sandown circuit is about having good power for the long runs up and down the two long straights. The fast 'esses' section at the end of the back straight leading into Dandenong Road Corner is one of the best sequences of corners in the Championship. Formerly the home of the 500km pre-Bathurst enduro, Sandown now forms the Semi Final leg of the Repco Supercars Finals Series.
