Supercars drivers race for points at the annual visit to Albert Park, and with it, a unique piece of silverware.
First awarded in 2018, the Larry Perkins Trophy is a special prize, and one that has proven difficult to win.
Named after the legendary Perkins, a Supercars Hall of Famer, the trophy honours a driver known for his success in both touring cars and Formula 1.
After reaching F1 to make 11 starts in the 1970s, Perkins returned to Australia built a legacy as a touring car driver and team owner, winning the Bathurst 1000 six times and running his own Perkins Engineering operation for more than two decades.
The trophy was created by RMIT Engineering student Adrien Fasel-Murphy together with senior lecturer Scott Mayson, using technologies such as 3D printing and virtual reality..
The trophy is presented to the driver who accumulates the most points across the four Supercars races at Albert Park.
