The viewing areas around the campgrounds are one of the things that make Bathurst special.
For many years, campers have largely managed these spaces themselves and, for the most part, have done a fantastic job of looking out for one another. As the event has grown, however, there have been increasing challenges involving early setup, reserved spaces, unidentified structures and disputes over shared viewing areas.
The 2026 gazebo guidelines are intended to keep viewing areas fair, safe and accessible for everyone.
These arrangements will operate as a trial for 2026. We will review how they work during the event, listen to feedback from campers and staff, and make adjustments where required for future years.
