After a difficult 2016 season that saw star driver Lee Holdsworth injured in a serious accident, Team 18 boss
Charlie Schwerkolt is hoping for better luck in year two of his single car venture.

2017 will be Schwerkolt’s eighth year on the Supercars grid, but it was only last year he stepped out on his own to build a team for he and Holdsworth, also enlisting former HRT boss Jeff Grech to help behind the scenes.

Plenty of hard work ensured the team was ready for the start of the season with a Triple Eight-built Holden Commodore
and customer deal, but Holdsworth’s incident proved a major setback, with 18-year old Dunlop Super2 Series driver Kurt Kostecki having to sub in with his car upgraded for two events, while a new chassis was built for the team.

Enduro co-driver Karl Reindler also completed an event while Holdsworth recovered from his fractured pelvis and other various injuries.
