A motorist died Friday morning when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a power pole in Baldwin Village, according to authorities. The man was speeding and the car split in half upon hitting the pole. The accident took place on La Cienega Boulevard near Rodeo Road at 1:35 a.m. according to the California Highway Patrol.
