Supercars has released the on-track schedule for season opening event of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, the Thrifty Bathurst 500.

The second weekend of the Bathurst SuperFest, the Thrifty Bathurst 500 kicks off the 2024 season at Australia’s most revered circuit.

Newly-crowned champion Brodie Kostecki will begin his title defence at Bathurst, while former teammate Will Brown will make his Supercars debut with Triple Eight Race Engineering.

Supercars will hold two practice sessions on Friday before contesting a 250-kilometre one race each on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a Top Ten Shootout on both Saturday and Sunday to determine the pole sitter for Races 1 and 2 of the upcoming championship.

Four support categories will also compete at Bathurst across the weekend, featuring the first event of the 2024 Dunlop Super2 and Super3 Series seasons and two races for the development series.

Mount Gambier native Kai Allen will look to defend his 2023 Super2 crown, while a growing grid of aspiring young drivers will look to dethrone the 18-year old from Eggleston Motorsport.

The Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters, and Aussie Racing Cars will also race around Mount Panorama across the three-day event.

A host of on and off-track entertainment and activation options will complement the 20-plus hours of on-track competition, with exciting details to be announced in the coming days.

The Thrifty Bathurst 500 follows the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour, which together form the Bathurst SuperFest, taking place from February 15-25 at Mount Panorama.

The Repco Bathurst 12 Hour opens the Intercontinental GT Challenge Season on the February 16-18 weekend, with the Thrifty Bathurst 500 taking place February 23-25.
